Taliban underboss Qari Iqbal eliminated
KHAR [in Bajaur]: Unidentified assailants killed Qari Iqbal - chief of the
Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan in Khar and a close aide of Maulvi Faqir - on
Tuesday, said locals and officials. Political administration officials told
Daily Times that the unidentified gunmen fired at Iqbal before sun set,
killing him immediately. Iqbal was Bajaur TTP chief Maulvi Faqir's deputy
and was wanted by the government. After the killing, security forces
cordoned off the area. The administration also imposed a curfew for an
indefinite time in Khar.
