Seven arrested and charged in North Carolina
http://www.fbi.gov/page2/july09/terrorism_072709.html

material support and conspiracy charges against all of them, and various
weapons charges

As far as I can tell, this was an ad hoc group, one guy from Kosovo, another
who had travelled to Jordan, an American Talibanski and his two sons, and
two others. I don't think they are part of the paranoid Jama'at al-Fuqrah
cult, which has several compounds in the rural USA.

SO we have US citizens training for and planning for terrorism in the
USA.... Ironically in cams originally funded and set up by the USA....

The USA was warned AT THE TIME THEY DID IT that it would come back to
bite them. Now the question is can the rest of the world treat the USA
in the same way the US is treating Pakistan?

As I see it it is quite legal according to US logic to send a UAV in and
take out the house these terrorists are in and if it blows up the one
next door and only 10-20 civilians are killed that is acceptable
collateral damage.

Stand by for the next instalment of the American Civil War.

Because, unless the US stands for coexistence and reconciliation between
people, the US cannot stick together, and as ole Abe remarked (quoting JC) -
a house divided against itself cannot stand.

Bush's crusade may well become America's undoing.

I think you may well be right. Note how fast US cities descend in to
violence at the slightest problem. Wholesale unemployment coupled with a
third world social support and medical system will cause mass unrest.

Seems even Fox News may be a little concerned that, 'the natives are getting
restless', and the flames of dissent certainly seem to be fanned in the
Healthcare debate.

I think you could be right.

Funny how there's not been any outrage from the usual suspects when someone
parades a "Death To Obama, Death To Michelle And Her Two Stupid Kids"
placard, yet they are all over it when a Muslim is accused of threatening
anyone.

Passions seem to be being stoked hard by the rightwing in America; Palin
calling Obama's healthcare plans "downright evil" and suggesting it amounts
to a "death panel" sitting in judgement. Rush Limbaugh says, "The Obama
health care logo is damn close to a Nazi swastika", Investor's Business
Daily even went so far as to claim Prof Steven Hawkings "wouldn't have a
chance in the U.K." under the NHS. It's being paraded as "evil socialism",
anathema to rightwing Republicans.

The great danger is that something - or someone - is going to snap, succumb
to the hyperbole, and I expect it will be pretty nasty if it does.
