Ollie North in spin mode
We'll skip the 90% "I hate the UN" which is the basis of his article to
concentrate on one very important point he makes at the end ...

President Bush needs to encourage Mr. d'Escoto - and the entire "Blame
America First" crowd gathered in the General Assembly - to read Article 51
of the UN Charter: "Nothing in the present Charter shall impair the inherent
right of individual or collective self-defense if an armed attack occurs
against a Member of the United Nations, until the Security Council has taken
measures necessary to maintain international peace and security."

Good point Ollie, but remind me how, having been attacked by some loony
hijackers not affiliated to any nation, it's a matter of "individual or
collective self-defense" to go and attack countries and peoples and depose
leaders who had nothing to do with it ?
"Blame America First" is entirely legitimate in that respect.
I'm sure Ollie and many others won't like what's said at the UN Assembly,
but that's tough. If America played the game by the book then it wouldn't
get the criticism it does. Instead it supports torture, rendition,
kidnapping, extrajudicial murder, denial of basic human rights, engagement
in illegal wars on top of a long history of covert and overt interference in
foreign countries' affairs and destinies which is what got it into its mess
in the first place -- And Ollie knows all about that.
