Ramping up to war on Iran
http://www.presstv.ir/detail.aspx?id=69505§ionid=3510203

<quotes>

The Pentagon will test new 'bunker-busting' bombs capable of obliterating
underground nuclear production facilities, a report says.

An analyst told the paper that the MOP project appears to be directed at
attacking Iran's nuclear enrichment facility in Natanz.

Iran, a signatory to the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), says its
nuclear activities are solely directed at generating electricity for its
growing population.

The US and Israel, however, have repeatedly threatened to strike nuclear
installations in Iran under the pretext that the country seeks nuclear
weaponry.

This is while the UN nuclear watchdog, which has extensively monitored
Iran's nuclear program since 2003, said in its latest report on Monday that
Iran has managed to enrich uranium-235 to a level 'less than 5 percent'.

The rate is consistent with the construction of a nuclear power plant.
Nuclear arms production, meanwhile, requires an enrichment level of above 90
percent.

While citing diplomacy as the only acceptable means for clarifying the
civilian nature of its nuclear program, Iran has warned that Israel and 32
US bases in the region will be targeted should the country come under
attack.

That Iran's enrichment program is in line with the civilian projects it
claims and is legally allowed to work on under NNPT rules won't stop it
being used as a pretext by the NeoCon and Zionist forces of the US and
Israel.

When they do, the shit will truly hit the fan.Goodbye Israel. Maybe not
tomorrow, but she will have sealed her fate.

I cannot think of any act more likely to encourage Iran to develop its own
nuclear weapons. Such an attack would convince Iran that Israel was a threat
to her existence and must be dealt with - hard to disagree when Israel uses
the same argument against Iran and is a nuclear weapon holding state.

It may all be sabre-rattling designed to threaten Iran into compliance with
western demands but it's unlikely to achieve its objectives. Iran is already
testing its defensive capabilities and undoubtedly preparing its offensive
capabilities.Once more the US, with her Israeli buddies, look set to plunge
the world into further darkness.

Perhaps the US view is that it can let Israel strike Iran and stand on the
sidelines to discourage retaliatory action by Iran ? That way America can
keep out of the zone of the finger of blame while Israel fights its proxy
war. American foreign policy never works though, and consists largely of
what seem like bright ideas to the limited American mindset but result in
massive blow-back. Some people just never learn the lessons of history, even
when that history is just one or two decades old.
