Three men questioned over an alleged threat to assassinate Gordon Brown have
been charged with terror offences, Lancashire Police have said.
Ishaq Kanmi, 22, of Blackburn, was charged with soliciting murder, and three
other charges.
Abbas Iqbal, 23, and Ilyas Iqbal, 21, each face two charges of possessing
and disseminating terrorist material.
The threats, also against former prime minister Tony Blair, were made in
January on a recognised jihadi website.
The group posting the statement called itself "Al Qaeda in Britain" and
demanded the withdrawal of British forces from Iraq and Afghanistan.
The men were arrested at Manchester Airport and in Accrington, Lancashire.

Of course, the behaviour of these men can have no possible connection with
the foreign policy pursued by Blair and Brown. They have clearly been
brainwashed and radicalised, and demonstrate the vital importance of the
work that Hazel Blears and her team are doing.
Nor with the fact that possibly the vast majority of the British public
right now would like to have Blair's and Brown's guts for garters.

You may have a point. Internal affairs are reason enough without looking at
foreign policy. Maybe it's a humanity issue rather the terrorism.
