More US troops charged
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/7539241.stm

<quote>

Two American soldiers have been charged with the murder of an Iraqi
prisoner, US military officials have said.

Staff Sgt Hal Warner and 1st Lt Michael Behenna are accused of the
premeditated murder of Ali Mansour Mohammed.

They have also been charged with assault, making a false official statement
and obstructing justice.

Military officials did not provide details on how or when Mr Mohamed was
killed, but they said he was released from prison in mid-May.

"Making a false official statement" ... That will be what most of us call
"lying.

Presumably Mr Mohamed wasn't dead when released or that would be taking the
piss; we've released him because he's no longer a threat to US security
because it appears we've killed him. Presumably by "prisoner" the BBC mean
"ex-prisoner" or even "civilian".

We'll have to wait for more details but so far it does read like Warner and
Behenna hunted Mr Mohamed down after being released or seized their chance
when they encountered him.
