What is Israel Doing In Gaza?

All deaths are unimaginably horrible.
But to use that horror against one side
politically, is unimaginably criminal.

The truth is that what Israel is doing is
necessary. And those who are clamoring
for a cease-fire at all cost are working
against what is clearly the right thing to do.

They might just as well go asking for the law
to institute a 48-hour truce with criminals
during which the criminals would be free
to rob, rape, murder... and, yes, countless
innocent bystanders get hurt and killed as
the police pursues its also necessary job.

I don't know any reasonable, sane person
who could possibly expect criminals anywhere
to suddenly refrain from crime just because
the police instituted a halt to police work...
any more than I know any reasonable, sane
person who could possibly expect Hamas to
refrain from pursuing its stated claims to
mayhem and murder... without SOMEONE
confronting them militarily--And in the
absence of Palestinians giving up any hope of
attaining any of their goals without butchery
and murder (by supporting Hamas) that job
falls as inevitably to the Israeli military as
the job of confronting crime the world over
falls to the police.
