Erm This is the right newsgroup?
This is uk.culture.nostalgia.1980s right , not uk.culture.nostalgia.
1940s ?
So why is there so much spam?
I'd really like to see a group of people with wa-ay two much time on
their hands take the time
to 'clean' groups like this. The problem is that Google Groups seems
to archive the junk along with
the genuine, and doesn't want to know unless MANY people complain :

There is no spam. Not if you use a proper news server anyway.

How would you propose someone "take time to 'clean' a newsgroup"?
