80s kids TV show...
OK, here's a bit of a puzzler.

The other night, after making my way into the 15th can of lager, something
popped into my head, rather like one of those repressed memories...

I remember a TV show, featuring wild animal footage, but with voices dubbed
on the animals to tell a story.

Now, everyone's first thoughts will be "Animal Magic". No. It isn't. There
wasn't a trace of Johnny Morris in sight, and it wasn't on the BBC.

It was on Children's ITV. At least I think it was. The theme tune was some
heavy trumpet affair. I'm sure I've heard it since in a national anthem, or
for a travel advert for a place like Egypt, or somewhere like that.

See, now I can barely remember the show, but have strong recollections of
watching it round my aunty Dorothy's, playing with a red and yellow plastic
till. Now, this allows me to date it at approximately 1986/1987 because
shortly after she moved away and then died.

Any ideas?

Any idea if that was just a bit of some bigger prog, or the entire thing?
Sounds kinda familiar, but I'm probably remembering something completely
different (I didn't get to see much ITV as a kid - bah)

I believe it was a full show, as it had its own theme music.

It was one of those 3:45-5:15 shows, or whatever the times were, so not
part of a larger programme.
