Been done.
It was called "I love the ..." 60's, 70's, 80's...
in fact, the original run went through each year, I love 1970, etc.

nah, i have seen that....its totally differant idea....more along the lines
of that wierd goggle eyed guy, lanky...er louie theroux...

sort of thing, ok this gives away the idea...

a epidsode for each programme where you go back to where they filmed each
show...say miami vice and you dress like they did back then (hey cool!)
look for old actors, dig the dirt, redo a couple of scenes...on location etc
etc.

fall guy...find a brown 4x4, do daft things, goto the places (yeah i know a
lot in studios etc)

CHiPs (yeah i know 70's at start) drive fast on the highway now, goto
locations, crash a couple of cars...be seen with chicks in bikinis..talk to
old stars (met erik estrada me has...)

airwolf..

but also the not so popular ones, streethawk/knighthawk? bad mem...

even hardcastle n mcormick.

its more a cult thing...not just a couple of minutes of clips etc. but on
location, finding old people...just imagine, literally filming on the dirtr
tracks where Dukes of H was done and gettting all the cool info etc

so what good shows were big and cultish?

The professionals, but more like 77-81...

Also cult movies, like gone in 60 seconds, and vanishing point, but both
early 70's....

So...
A cross between I love the ... and "bring back "+grange hill/the a-team/star
wars/etc

> so what good shows were big and cultish?

Well, not big, but very good...
Tales of the gold monkey was a good un...
Lots of exotic locations for that one, wot with it being set in the south
pacific.

You'd have trouble with locations for battlestar galactica and buck rogers,
though :)

The new avengers. (england and canada)

A Man Called Sloane...

Scarecrow and Mrs King...

sort of, but had the idea in my head long before the band wagon
started.....one of the things i wanted to do before i die things, one was to
dress like don johnson in florida and get chased by the CHP in
california...so it went from there, jump a charger in a hillbilly town etc

*shock*
I can understand it with the sloane one, it did vanish without trace never
to be repeated, but Scarecrow and Mrs King was quite popular at the time.
And it did star Bruce (B5's sheridan/Tron) Boxleitner.
("Bring 'em back alive" being another one of his serieses)
