FFS man, just go to IMDB.

If you can only think of two classic 80s movies, then we're wasting our
time.

Quite... He didn't even mention ghostbusters, back to the future or
gremlins... God knows why he wants to live in a decade he never experienced.
(being only about 9 when the decade ended he couldn't've experienced any of
it with any significant degree of "wow, I remember that"ness)

Those two years make a big difference... and scribbler isn't trying to
remake his flat into a 1980s flat, is he?

I did consider it once.

I think I was 9, and wanted to move out after my mother wouldn't let me
play football on the school field with the other kids.

My flat was going to be cool. I even remember doing (really shit) drawings
of it.

And why are you trying to base your life / flat / whatever around other
poeple's memories? If you don't have (m)any memories of your own, maybe
it's not the best thing to pursue?
