Is that the thing with Johnny Ball?
I met somebody the other day who has been working on some new projects with
him, so might be able to get in touch at some point.

Well, Johnny Ball did "think of a number" and "think again"
But I've never heard of "think about".
p.s. new projects? Is Johnny ball... the only man ever to succeed in making
maths interesting to the kids... making a comeback?!

Re: TV on DVD
about the beginning of
November, that text came to her mind, Rev. 3:20, "Behold, I stand at the
door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will
come in, and sup with him, and he with me." She spoke of it to those of
the family with a great appearance of joy, a smiling countenance, and
elevation of voice; and afterwards she went into another room, where her
mother overheard her talking very earnestly to the children about it;
and particularly heard her say to them, three or four times over, with
an air of exceeding joy and admiration, Why, it is to sup with God. Some
time about the middle of winter, very late in the night, when all were
a-bed, her mother perceived that she was awake, and heard her, as though
she was weeping. She called to her, and asked her what was the matter.
She answered with a low voice, so that her mother could not hear what
she said; but thinking that it might be occasioned by some spiritual
affection, said no more to her: but perceived her to lie awake, and to
continue in the same frame, for a considerable time. The next morning
she asked her, whether she did not cry the last night. The child
answered, Yes, I did cry a little, for I was thinking about God and
Christ, and they loved me. Her mother asked her, whether to think of God
and Christ loving her made her cry? She answered, Yes, it does
sometimes.
She has often manifested a great concern for the good of others' souls:
and has been wont many times affectionately to counsel t

has once come into
their minds to inquire, whether or not this was not true grace, they
have been much afraid lest they should be deceived with common
illuminations and flashes of affection, and eternally undone with a
false hope. But when they have been better instructed, and so brought to
allow of hope, this has awakened the gracious disposition of their
hearts into life and vigor as the warm beams of the sun in the spring
have quickened the seeds and productions of the earth. Grace being now
at liberty, and cherished with hope, has soon flowed out to their
abundant satisfaction and increase.
There is no one thing that I know of which God has made such a means of
promoting His work amongst us, as the news of others' conversion. This
has been owned in awakening sinners, engaging them earnestly to seek the
same blessing, and in quickening saints. Though I have thought that a
minister declaring his judgment about particular persons' experiences,
might from these things be justified; yet I often signify to my people

Re: TV on DVD
We do not trouble ourselves about being esteemed in the towns through
which we pass. But if we are to remain a little while there, we are so
concerned. How long is necessary? A time commensurate with our vain and
paltry life.
150. Vanity is so anchored in the heart of man that a soldier, a soldier's
servant, a cook, a porter brags and wishes to have his admirers. Even
philosophers wish for them. Those who write against it want to have the
glory of having written well; and those who read it desire the glory of
having read it. I who write this have perhaps this desire, and perhaps those
who will read it...
151. Glory.--Admiration spoils all from infancy. Ah! How well said! Ah! How
well done! How well-behaved he is! etc.
The children of Port-Royal, who do not receive this stimulus of envy and
glory, fall into carelessness.
152. Pride.--Curiosity is only vanity. Most frequently we wish to know but
to talk. Otherwise we would not take a sea voyage in order never to talk of
it, and for the sole pleasure of seeing without hope of ever communicating
it.
153. Of the desire of being esteemed by those with whom we are.--Pride takes
such natural possession of us in the midst of our woes, errors, etc. We even
lose our life with joy, provided people talk of it.
Vanity: play, hunting, visiting, false shame, a lasting name.
154. I have no friends to your advantage.
155. A true friend is so great an advantage, even for the
