Ilam Hall available NOW
All,

Just been notified that over 100 beds are available at Ilam Hall YHA
in the Peak District (near to Alton Towers) tonight (25 Oct), Friday
and Saturday nights (26/27 Oct), for 18.95pounds a bed (breakfast
extra).

Loads of space for the weekend due to a group booking cancellation,
book now at www.yha.org.uk

Its the only hostel with space left in the area. Great for taking the
kids away etc.
I've just booked myself in so might see you there!

Price seems a bit high to me - would have thought that as they've 'lost' a
group booking and it's short notice they might have offered a 'good' price
to entice people in. Might even have thought that they would, at very least
(or should that be most), have offered the £16 shown on the webpage for the
hostel. Or even better, the £12.95 rate as it's one of the hostels in that
offer.

Re: Ilam Hall available NOW
Yep, I thought the price was 'interesting' too, but I may end up
getting a room to myself as the place is likely to be dead. I'm told
that the cancelled group had paid in full too.

To be honest I'm just pleased to get into the Peak District this
weekend - it was fully booked everywhere when I checked the other day.
Some might say that I'm paying for the convenience of a late booking!
It is half-term after all.

As a result of the high overnight price, I'm self catering. Had the o/
n price been less I'd have spent more on food and drink (which I
believe has higher margins). Shame that.

I'm getting into Alton Towers for free (with a pass) so the weekend
isn't that expensive - for me anyway!
