Viewing messages
Just recently when I go to this group the side menu items have started
to appear down the left had side over all the left side of the
meassages making it impossible to read them. This happens in Firefox
and IE.
Is it me or is there something wrong with the group setup? If it's me
how do I change the page setup so I can read all the messages?

Using Outlook Express here, and no problems. Must be HTML related on your
computer?

Which reader are you using - OE seems just fine with me.
Even if you have the hold menu pin depressed, it still compresses the
message so that the left hand is not obscured.

I'm sorry to say that it's your chosen mode of interaction with
this *Usenet* group. It's not a "Google Group", yet you choose to
access it using a web browser, rather than a usenet client (such
as Outlook Express).

You need to access a news server, using news client software. Ask
your ISP if they support Usenet, and how to set up your client
software. If they don't, you can use one of the independent news
providers, such as aioe.org, for a small fee.

Yes I'll try that but I have been watching this newsgroup via a web
browser for at least 2 years - probably more - and this problem has
only just started so there must be a setting somewhere that has
changed. It's not a setting on my computer as the problem is the same
on both my desktop and laptop pcs

Just found out that if I reload the page in Firefox it loads properly
with the side menu items in the correct place on the right hand side
of the screen. So problem solved and I'll carry on viewing through my
web browser which I prefer.

I use a news client (Turnpike). However from time to time I need to
delve into the mists of Usenet time. Deja used to provide that
facility, however Google took them over and started to monkey around
with the software. It is becoming more and more difficult to use as a
search tool. By default you use to see the thread in which a posting
sits, now it is difficult to find.

The problem described by the OP has suddenly appeared if you use
Firefox, but not if you use IE 8. Whether the problem originates in
Google or Firefox I do not know.

but see my previous posting - if you do a reload of the page in
firefox by right clicking on the right hand side of the page the
problem disappears - well it did for me!!
