real media file
I have a real media file that was shot on a camera. Unfortunately it
was shot side on. Does anybody know if it can be turned so we can
watch it correctly?

There aren't *any* cameras I can think of which create realmedia (.rv)
video. If the file extension is .AVI then you can use VirtualDub to
rotate the picture by 90 or 180 degrees (or any other arbitrary angle)
http://www.virtualdub.org/
The menu option you need after loading the file in VDub is
Video -> Filters -> Add -> Rotate -> Left by 90º
Don't forget to save the file as a new file name so you can repeat the
edit if necessary.

So it got converted to realmedia format later. Anyway, it's a
realmedia file now. Can he do anything with it?

There aren't *any* cameras I can think of which create realmedia (.rv)
video. If the file extension is .AVI then you can use VirtualDub to
rotate the picture by 90 or 180 degrees (or any other arbitrary angle)
http://www.virtualdub.org/
The menu option you need after loading the file in VDub is
Video -> Filters -> Add -> Rotate -> Left by 90º
Don't forget to save the file as a new file name so you can repeat the
edit if necessary.
