This one needs some explanation. The record is for
"Canopy piloting, distance" and the record (which wasn't
every claimed before) is not 150.72 meters? Is this
some sort of swoop thang? I'm a bit confused because
this guy supposedly had a "previous record" in this
category of 206.85 meters according to the FAI website.

Is this some sort of freefall speed or is this the speed a
style series was done?

The record of 206.85 m has been retired when major changes (weight and
wingload limitations) were made valid for 2006. Therefore this is a new
record.

The Sporting Code states:
"3.2.3 Freefall Style records
The record performance of style jumps is the score for one series of
manoeuvres as described in
the current Competition Rules."
