Friends of Ruckert
Many of you are friends of Dav3e Ruckert, and many of you have yet to meet
him. I feel privileged to have know him since 1969 shortly after he returned
from S.E. Asia, although I didn't start jumping with him until 1983.
There will be a Memorial Service for his Mother and all the others whose
bodies were donated to the Willed Body Program at the University of
Washington (State) School of Medicine. The Service will take place beginning
09:30 on 7 Sep., a little less than 2 weeks away, and will be held at :
Evergreen-Washelli Funeral Home Chapel
11111 Aurora Ave N
Seattle, WA 98133-8299
USA
Telephone: 1.206.362.5200
Graveside services will follow.
Dav3e didn't have the opportunity to say goodbye to his Mother at the time
of her death in Feb. 1975, and has suffered some personal grief about the
matter in the intervening 32 years. Although this Memorial Service won't
make him "un-crazy" (*nobody* would want _that_), it will be an important
healthy personal milestone in his life.
It's my very humble opinion that the presence of skydiving friends would
greatly enhance the benefits that he would have as a result, even though I
haven't asked his permission to present the matter publicly. If you can
attend, please do so. If you're flying in, I'll be in the neighborhood for
about a week and will provide surface transport from any airport you choose,
even if I have to rent a bus. Email me at hotmail and let me know how to
assist, please.
Eventually we all learn that friends are worth having and supporting when
needed.
