Ramona Williams was my classmate at Rome Elementary in the 1969-1970 school 
year.  We were in 3rd grade together, and our teacher was Mrs. Berg.

Ramona was hit by a truck and killed during the school year.  Mrs. Berg 
didn't hear about it until she arrived to school and couldn't contain her 
grief.  She was weeping bitterly.

Ramona was fairly quiet and wore worn-out clothes to school.  She was from a 
poorer family.  What was she doing out in the road, anyway?  Sometimes I 
wonder if she did it on purpose because she wanted to die.  She was only 8 
or 9 years old.

Ramona was at the bottom of the class when it came to grades.  She was 
suffering abuse and it showed with her grades and with her death.  Her 
brother was sadistic and liked to dig his fingernails into my arm on the 
bus.

Mrs. Berg wept because she knew.  Who wouldn't?

From my parents and baby sitter flirting with the occult together, I've had 
a couple of tragic things happen to me.  Later in 1981, a second of my 
classmates from Rome Elementary turned up missing, disappeared.  Her name 
was CYNTHIA JANE ANDERSON.  And why would you ask that I associate this with 
the occult?  I became a medium to death.  People around me died.  Then my 
dad died.  I don't miss the bastard.

Rome, Ohio is in Ashtabula County.  I also attended Windsor Elementary there 
in 2nd grade, where my father was Principal.
