bee nestbox possitioning
Hello,
What is the best possition for a bee nestbox with small tubes in it, in the
sun facing South or in the shade facing north?

I don't know. I wish there were more instructions from the manufacturers
when you buy them about this. I have one hung on a tree branch about 9 feet
high, facing almost due south and it's been totally ignored for the last two
years.
On the other hand I drilled similar sized holes all around a chunky log
about a foot high and 5 inches across and mud blocking some of the holes
suggest it was used ;-)
I had a combined box for bees and ladybirds bought for me for my birthday
(my brother sure knows that my interest lies in wildlife..!) I haven't put
it up yet, I can't decide where to put it.
It would be helpful if the manufacturers gave advice about positioning etc
along with the box.
I don't need to bother too much as I have a very large mature garden, lots
of trees, some old, loads of plants allowed to seed and decay to provide
hollow stems, plenty of places for bees and ladybirds.
For those people who have the smaller gardens with newer houses than mine,
who are trying to make a place for wildlife with the bee boxes, "get on to
the manufacturer" and suggest they provide better instructions.

saw activity at his "bee hotel" when it was in sunshine.

It would be helpful if the manufacturers gave advice about positioning etc

hollow stems, plenty of places for bees and ladybirds.

I don't know. I wish there were more instructions from the manufacturers
when you buy them about this. I have one hung on a tree branch about 9 feet
high, facing almost due south and it's been totally ignored for the last two
