Flora with exact information on seeds
Hello everybody,
I am trying to compile as much information on seed morphology (size,
shape, surface features, colour etc) as possible. I came across the
flora of Butcher (1961) A New Illustrated British Flora which has very
good and concise information on nearly all covered species. As I
understand only two out three volumes have been published and at the
moment I only hav access to volume 1.
Are there any other current floras which in a similar way offer
precise information on seed characteristics?
Thank you very much

The 31 parts (+ index) making up "Drawings of British Plants" by Stella
Ross-Craig (Bell & Sons, London, 1948-1974) has accurate, much
magnified, black and white line-drawings of the seeds showing sizes (and
obviously shape and surface features, but not colour).
Clapham, Tutin & Warburg mention the colour of the seeds in many though
not all cases, unlike Stace.
