The Statesman
" At its height, the Corgi factory in Swansea, South Wales, named by
founder Philip Ullmann after the Queens favourite breed of dog in a
self-conscious act of patriotism towards his adopted home, employed
6,000 people. Thousands of them were workers who had deserted the
declining local coal mines to join the production line. "
