OT need RC countdown timer
To assist an on-going public speaking class I would like to buy / build
a device which accomplishes the following:
At the click of a button similar to a garage opener, a remotely located
(20-50 ft) timer should show a steady green led. After 4 minutes and 30
seconds, it should illuminate an amber led, possibly flashing it to be
certain of catching the speakers eye. At 5 minutes, it should show a
steady red led.
Clicking the button again would turn the lights off.
The green led is to alert the speaker that timing of the talk has
started -- and is optional, as the speaker could simply assume that
timing began with their first syllable. The amber one is to announce
that he / she has 30 seconds to wrap things up. The flashing is
optional. The red led is to let them know that their alloted time is
over ... to stop speaking and return to their seat.
The timer does not have to be adjustable, as the times for which the
visible (but silent) signal is wanted will always be the same.
Does anyone have any leads on this? A Google search for the past hour
has turned up nothing.
I am in the market for two such receiver units, each, preferably,
responding to a different frequency.
Bill
I can also be reached at
