speed 600 is about 180W at 50-60% efficiency:

But that won't net you 45 degrees.

You can try talking to John at www.puffinmodels.com

He'll sell you an AXI probably..2820/10 with a 10x7 or 11x5 folder
sounds about right with a 3s pack on it - you should be in the 300-350W
area with that.

You probably need around 80W/lb for a fast ROC.

There's loads of other motors around at similar powers tho. Shoot for
35-40A on 3s LIPO - need a pack around 3500mAh for safety and longevity
- and pick one hat s rated for at least 10" prop.

trouble is phoning John at Puffin and then not buying from him as hes a
nice chap but dammed expensive, a 2820/10 is £54 and a similar motor
from Hong Kong is £12, Lipo £60 Hong Kong £15, and yes I have used them
and they seem as good as the brand names they might be inferior but I
cannot tell the difference with out any fancy meters and my T-Rex flys
just the same, and I can afford 4 for the price of one

thanks for the link seems to confirm the bit of Googling I already tried

cheers I just needed to order one as the kits a Christmas present but
the hard bit is going to be fitting an out runner in the nose that's
designed for a 600 can, I might just have to cut it back further and use
a bigger spinner

Mmm. You COULD get something that fits in - an inrunner. Mega 16/25/2 or
something - and drop the prop back to the original 8x4.5 folder. OR its
epyclic gearbox time..

None of these are cheap options though.

Maybe you can find a cheap chinko inrunner with sub 2300 KV..and run it
on a medium folder.
