Looking for old R-C book
Hi Folks,

Many years ago as a boy, I occasionally borrowed from the library a
facinating old book on Radio Control.

It was a British book and contained lots of wonderful home-brew valve
transmitters and receivers as well as rubber powered actuators, bang-bang
servos and tuned reed relays (I think).

But in particular it had a wonderful proportional system which used a
spinning cylinder with tapered brass segments (in the TX).

I would love to find a copy after all these years. That book got me started
in RC and electronics.

Can anyone remember that book?

Thanks in Advance ........... Zim

It wasn't called "Radio-Controlled Models", author FJ Camm, and published by
Pearson Ltd was it? My copy is a second edition dated 1963. As you say, it's got
lots of valve circuits, tuned reeds, "Mark/space system using a rotating
cylinder, a chapter on radio controlled aircraft and another on boats.

It cost me 12/6 in old money.

I think it might be. By coincidence I have a copy in the post at the moment.
Here's hoping.

Thanks very much John
