Cambrian Mk1X Spitfire
Has anybody had one of these,

http://www.shop.edirectory.co.uk/cambrian_models/3104/mia/d/radio+control+plane+spitfire+mkix+kit/pid/5317241

I am thinking of getting one but I have asked via email what engine is
recommended, and tried calling them but no reply to either.

Doesn't bode well for a sale, but I am still interested what engine would be
good for it maybe an OS52 surpass?

At that size and weight its a generic '40 powered' thing..

My need a heavyish engine to balance anyway.
I am sure a 52 will be OK.

I'vce no personal experience, but IIRC the Cambrian fun fighters - if that's
what your Spit is - were designed for 25 size engines so a 52 would be
ballistic.

Yes, they did the 15-25 size funfighters, but they also did larger versions
of the spit and mustang. I had a super tigre 60 in my mustang; flew very
nicely.

They were called Cambrian models, then changed their name to Cambrian
Direct. Looks like they are no longer trading - obviously couldn't compete
with todays ARTF prices!!!

This spit is a described as a mid sized spit with a larger and a smaller
(funfighter) size in thier range. The site is branded Cambrian Model
Company, and has a feedback form which I have just filled in looking for a
reply from that.
I will let the group know if I get a reply.

At that size and weight its a generic '40 powered' thing..

My need a heavyish engine to balance anyway.
I am sure a 52 will be OK.

At that size and weight its a generic '40 powered' thing..

My need a heavyish engine to balance anyway.
I am sure a 52 will be OK.
