Twosome
Sharpens big stick in anticipation........ PROD.........
Is there anybody there? there there there
A good afternoons flying off the slope.
Two planes used - both from Veron plans. O.K, I had a fair bit of wood so
I sent off for the plans.... then I was a man with a plan(s) !
One was the Veron Big Impala and t'other was a Veron Vortex. The Impala
is a model designed for slope flying and was well known, the Vortex was
designed for Nordic A2.
Both fligh a treat, the Vortex goes up as if on elastic if it gets a
whiff of lift >:-)
Anybody else flying either of these older designs, or has memories of
them ???
Fun to build and fun to fly.
O.K, that's it you can get back to sleep now.
God, it's dusty in here.... and all those cobwebs.......
I'm off now now now now

Oh yes Reg, I have very happy memories of flying the Big Impalas. This was
the first one I built, being modelled by my missus back in the early
eighties ...
http://www.pbase.com/davecq/image/52814742/original
and this was another one I later built, here shown alongside my Ridge Racer,
also in the eighties ...
http://www.pbase.com/davecq/image/52814744/original
I loved the Impalas because they were equally at home off the ridge or off a
bungee in good thermal conditions. A joy to fly.

I know the feeling Dave. I can't be arsed to sober up and revalidate my
PPL/A. I should really, especially as my son is becoming an aviation
nutter - "my Daddy's a Pilot" etc........

Oh yes Reg, I have very happy memories of flying the Big Impalas. This was
the first one I built, being modelled by my missus back in the early
eighties ...

and this was another one I later built, here shown alongside my Ridge Racer,
also in the eighties ...

I loved the Impalas because they were equally at home off the ridge or off a
bungee in good thermal conditions. A joy to fly.
