Warco BH600
Hi Guys
Newbie to the forum, just received a second hand BH600 lathe from
Warco, i had to wait 2 months while the unit went through their
workshops for a sprucing, all in all good with only minor displeasements
( warning bulb Missing No oil in Head stock, still full of swarf) all of
which i can deal with and no doubt warco will sort. the main problem is
when i set the higher speed on the motor belt it blows the plug fuse, in
the slow range all is well, cos i am new to turning am i doing something
wrong, the belt tension is slacker in the slow speed position compared
to the high speed position but not excessive. Can anyone advise me on
this.
Thanks
Wayne

well no ones answered ..
so with my limited knowledge i will try .

its the start up current ...
it normally consumes 1500 watts.... 2 horse power motor ...so start
up would be a lot more..exceeding the 13 amp ..maybe .

so i would say ...wire it directly through a 16 amp D rated mcb in an
enclosure to your 30 amp ring main

or put a dedicated 16 amp mcb in your consumer unit ...and wire it to
that .

one other thing

if it has change gears .. or adjustable gear train....make sure the
gears all pulled apart slightly ...not pushed fully into mesh ...this
will save wear on the gears and make less work for the motor.

all the best..mark
