sabotaged!
With the bad weather, the horses have been hanging around the yard
more, and there has been a corresponding increase in the number of
wheelbarrow-loads needed to be removed every evening. (btw,
wheelbarrow wheel still going strong - thx!)
So, last night, after my third load, I figured I'd earned a rest, and
headed over to the bales of hay I'd put down for the horses to nibble
at (but hadn't yet opened, cos I didn't want them to spread the hay
until I'd cleaned the bed). Reversed up to the bale, lowered myself
about halfway, then did a foal imitation and let go. Only to plop not
onto the bale, but *through* the damn thing!
The damn sneaky horses had undermined the middle of the bale, pulling
out bits of hay but leaving the top looking full and solid. They
must've planned it for weeks!
At least they enjoyed a good laugh at granny with her feet in the air
- Tyche particularly enjoyed opening and closing the velcro on my muck
boots - v hard to get up again when a foal has hold of your foot :)
