Treeless Saddles
I have just bought one of these saddles following a recommendation
from a friend and a ride on her saddle - OMG! they are so comfortable
and fit any horse - I have bought the Hybrid Trail
http://www.ridetreeless.com/gallery.html
You feel as if you are sitting 'in' the horse rather than 'on' the
horse and feel very secure - I would highly reccomend if you are
thinking about buying a new saddle to try one - they are for sale in
UK believe. I have sat on a lot of saddles over the years and this is
the most comfortable and secure saddle I've ever sat in. You can feel
every movement of the horse - felel them relaxing or tensing, and it
weighs nothing - maybe seven pounds? much lighter than even a
synthetic. I'm gonna sell my two other saddles and buy a second one -
I'm convinced!

Hi Clare
Interesting that you feel very secure in them. I looked at some at an event
last year, and couldn't see how they would stay in place if Sophie did one
of her violent stop/ swerves - and my view was someone confirmed by someone
who had one but confessed that getting on without the saddle slipping was
interesting!
I think I'll stick to my Ideal VSD (and superglue). ;-)
Cheers
Alison.

Hi Alison
I think there are quite a few different models out there and I have
read that some of the are a bit wobbly. You have to get on the
'Icelandic" way (their description) -that is pointing towards the
horses head, holding pommel with left hand and opposite side of cantle
with right hand. My Trail hybrid has an extended pommel - you would
have to look at the photos - which feels secure. I rode our very very
fat pony in it and it did'nt wobble. You are not supposed to ride in
them without a numnah underneath and they sugest a hunting breastplate
if you are doing alot of steep hill work.
