Thanks again for you help Peter, I see you've entered the world of AV1
ownership. Out of interest what is the output of that alt?
Mine seems to run a bit slower than I expected, but the governor is
certainly working as it should. Im probably not judging the revs very
well, any neat (and cheap) tricks for measuring revs?

One thing bothering me, there is an oil pipe that comes up through the
head into the rocker box that squirts out oil at such pressure that
even a new cork gasket won't keep the oil in. Any thoughts? Im off to
see if the manual sheds any light on the subject.
