More PU8
Both the engines that we have are missing their side cowlings for the cylinder
heads. These divert the cooling air round the corner over the inlet manifold
pipes.
Don't quite see why they should be left off, unless there was a cooling problem
with them fitted, but hot air blowing over those pipes would certainly make a
difference.
Does anyone else have a PU engine with these fitted/not fitted?
I am borrowing one today so that I can do the drawings for some to be made. They
are handed.
There are two studs on the outer part of the main cowling that carry the
cowlings, and probably more round the corner, I haven't looked yet.

Mine must have been complete as I had all of that fitted, if you look at
article I think you will find that was it.

left home at 08:00 returned 13:30, been to Cambridge to sort out Italian
wiring cock-up. Been on computer logging jobs ever since, plus a trip to
Maplins in Bedford to get cable and glands for Lyn's new toy, sorry stair
lift, I fetched home Saturday with Dan.
