Glad to hear it's OK! :-))

The AV1 won't pull much more than 3kVA I'd have thought, but I will report back
once we have our greasy mitts on it. The lack of output is probably because
there is no control panel on it, so no field connections etc etc.

By memory, there's a restrictor banjo bolt in that oil feed, probably been put
somewhere else! 

Had a quick look:

The manual shows it on the oil gallery feed banjo to the rockers, down at the
base of the cylinders. Pull that out, you'll probably find it is not restricted,
in which case you need to find out where it has been put PDQ.

There is a pipe from the relief valve to the rockers as well. Check that the
relief valve isn't stuck open with a piece of crap in it.

The reducer may be on the oil pump in the base, not up on the block.

depends which version and which engine you have.

Thanks, but I have just picked up a Series II AV manual, came in the post this
morning :-)) There are differences also between the AV and AVA (air-cooled)
