PU8 Genny Stripdown
Spent a happy couple of hours in the evening sun tonight, stripping the PU8 and
generator off the mounting frame so that it can go for shotblasting and Zinc
spraying.

Lots of design 'sillies' in there, like the massive copper induction pipe that
is anchored to the carb body one end, and fitted to the air cleaner the other,
so that it wobbles about, loosening the carb body screws as it does. Both of the
engine we have showed loose screws, not just the air pipe to carb but the main
carb body as well, which has four screws holding it together.

The dynamo, as Kim may have mentioned, is bl**dy heavy, probably more than the
engine and frame combined.

Pins through the dynamo and engine feet might have been an issue, but WD40 and a
bit of care and they came out OK. The engine to dynamo coupling has sliding pins
from each side into the coupling, allowing a bit of movement each way.

The silencer on the genny is totally rotten, but the spare engine has a very
good silencer on it, so that will change over. There are a few issues with the
silncer mounting as well, but that's another tale...
