How much?
If you get busted in the UK, how much is too much for personal
possession? I've read the ACPO guidelines and it's very unclear.. half
and ounce? quarter? less?

I think you will find that the amount is not the only factor to decide
whether one is charged with supply. There needs to be scales and packaging
as well, although kitchen scales and cling film might count, and most
people have those.
uk.legal added as they may know more, they are all highly intelligent,

A friend was busted with a half, got arrested but got away with personal
- let off with a caution. The bud was all in one container though, and
the home search found nothing else to support dealing. Yeah, if you get
arrested for "possession with intent to supply" they automatically get a
warrant to search your home. This was how West Mercia piggys.
If you get caught, as soon as they say you're under arrest, tell them
politely you're not going to say anything more until you've spoken to a
solicitor. Do say stuff like your name, but don't answer any offence
related questions - and speak to the solicitor. They will let you know
about the tricks the pigs will play to get you for dealing.
Basically, even if you had an oz you'll need to claim its all yours, and
you don't share it with your mates! Say your mates might or might not
have bud themselves, and its not your business if they do or don't.
Happy toking :)

How long's a piece of string?
A friend got busted at Dover with about 200 grammes of grass hidden in
his car. He was unfortunate enough to be re-entering the country a few
days after September 11th 2001 when C&E was being extra diligent and
X-rayed his car. They accepted that it was for his own consumption (he'd
grown it at his place in France) and stated in court that they didn't
believe he had any intention of selling any. He was fined several hundred
pounds and had the car confiscated.
About six months later he came into Harwich by ferry from the Hook of
Holland after visiting a coffee shop-owning friend. As he drove through
customs the following conversation took place:
Customs officer: "Good afternoon Mr. XXXXXX. Do you have anything apart
from a bit of personal with you?"
My friend: "Er, no".
Customs officer: "Right you are. Off you go then".
Jon.
