Jersey and the Frankliln Mint
All,
During the 80's and 90's the Franklin Mint sold "Coin Sets of All
Nations," which included coins from the Island of Jersey. So far, I have
collected 3 different sets. The first is from 1985, the second from 1988,
and the last from 1991. Does anyone know how many of these sets were made?
Also, were there any other years besides these three?

You can see the sets at:

Thanks,
Harold

The whole "numismatic value" argument aside, these nation cards with a stamp
and coins are kind of cool. Any idea what they cost per nation when issued?

They were also done with banknotes and they are the ONLY way of getting a
guaranteed uncirculated note off ebay. :-) Billy

These PNCs and the put together 'Coins of the World' sets raise hell
for those looking for mintages. For example, many coins of New Zealand
are included in these sets. There are 3 sets of mintage numbers for
many coins, one set of numbers for coins issued in New Zealand for
commercial use, another set of numbers for those coins included in the
'Coins of the World' sets, and a third set of numbers which doesn't
correlate with the others. VERY confusing!

Re: Jersey and the Frankliln Mint
This was a popular collection that ran from the early 80's to the
early 2000's. When they ran out of coins they would substitute newer
coins...so there are numerous variations. They cost about $19.95 each
originally.

If you want to purchases some...www.numismart.net has a ton of them.
Email them direct for the list of what they have..it is not mentioned
on the website. Franklin Mint had TONS of these left in stock when
they pretty much went out of business back in late 2003. As a side
note...they are presently in rebirth stage with new owners.
