Just spotted my first ever Black Redstart
Black Redstart in my back garden. I understand these are quite rare.

Surprises me because the amount of bloody cats in my neighbourhood I very
rarely see a sparrow :o)

Great news. I've never seen one, ever.

I do have a few of those around, despite the cats.

Wow! I sort of saw one in Germany (I briefly saw it disappearing into a
tree in full leaf)
Congratulations!

Hopped around my garden for about 10 or 15 minutes (allowing me a good
while to ID it) looking for food in and around my flowerbeds. Then it
flew into some ivy on a far wall and I never saw it again. Kept
waiting for it to reappear but it never did so I must have missed it.
I still keep an eye out for it though.
