scope advice please
Can anyone recommend a good scope please? I'm looking to upgrade my current
one and want something around £5-600. (I would need a body and eye piece for
that) but would like one with interchangeable eye pieces so that I coudl
save up for some more. I'd also like the ability to attach a camera in the
future (but that is not so important). The main things I really need are for
it to be waterproof and reasonable light to cart about. Any advice much
appreciated,
thanks in advance,
Hayley

I suugest you look at telescopes models from Kowa, Swarovski, Zeiss,
Opticron to start with athough there are other good makes (Nikon).

I think that the Kowa range may suit as they make excellent scopes with
60mm and 66mm objective lenses which are a lot lighter than the larger
scopes with 80mm objectives. A good zoom eyepiece will avoid the need for
having other eyepieces athough if you wish to attach a camera for
digiscoping then a separate eyepiece could be necessary. Kowa make their
own adapter for this purpose which works very well although it is vital to
have a suitable digital camera.

On a similar note, Iam new to bird watching and wish to buy my first scope
complete with eyepiece at around £250. What is a decent magnification and is
around 60mm standard for the front optic.
