Juwel Multilux - repairable?
My Juwel Multilux 100 lighting unit just failed after 6 months (the tubes
and plug fuse are OK) The supplier has agreed to replace it under warranty
but can't promise to get a new one before the New Year. I've rigged up
emergency lighting for now by replacing the whole hood with a glass sheet
and sitting a single 3' fluorescent from an old tank on top - hardly elegant
or particularly safe.

Has anyone opened up the Multilux unit? It looks like you'd just drill out
the two plastic "welds" holding the end caps on. I'm assuming that inside
there's a standard electronic ballast unit that I could replace for not too
much.
