Did I miss the discussion about this on here or are we all treating the Daily Wail article (and all the lazy journos who picked it up and bunged it in their papers) with the contempt that they so rightly deserve? for those who had the good fortune to miss the made-up story:- http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1211475/Britains-blade-culture-claims-victim--Scouts-penknives.html and http://news.google.co.uk/news/more?pz=1&ned=uk&as_scoring=r&as_maxm=9&as_qdr=w&as_drrb=q&as_mind=9&as_minm=8&cf=all&as_maxd=8&ncl=dGBPCLsxe81bltMYnfGx93CGfZgBM I see that a fair number of the journos still have the image of a Boy Scout and Scoutmasters firmly in their mind again. No girls. No siree. The bloke from the Telegraph appears to live in the 1950's and as usual the commenst all appear to be from huffing-and-puffing people banging on about tha nanny state (and immigrants). Andy

Last year we did a primative living course together and a few months back ended up on the same Archery course. I doubt that she said it either. I have been quoted in newspapers as saying things even when I said nothing at all. There are 2 reasons for this:- 1) You complain about the press to the Press Complains Commission (an alleged and self- professed *independent* committee) which comprises editors of 8 newspapers. 2) "If you won't give me a quote I'll write what I want and if you don't like it you had better have deep pockets if you want to sue" genuine quote.
