Which song?

We had this debate tonight, and thought that 500 Miles - The Proclaimers,
or generally anything by Queen, would be a good choice.

I die!

I sent it to one of my YLs last night and she said we should do one, but we
wondered if they used some swish technology, rather than labouriously
fiddling with each clip as I do. I just want to know how they get so many
Youtube hits, we have stuff on there for a year and hardly clear 100.
The reason I put a few scout clips onto YouTube was because when I first
clicked on 'Bermondsey' up came a local Natioanl Front march with 44,000
hits. I just wanted people to see that there is more to this place than a
bunch of racists. Clearly there is something in the tags you embed in the
clip.

I don't think so - we have a Service Crew of 100 and we told last
week's 800 campers to search Youtube on "Tolmers" if they wanted to
see it. And then there's you lot. It's spreading like a virus! BTW did
you see me on the lake in my old Mountain Bat? I thought I was too old
for pop-video stardom ;-)

Re: Tolmers Rockstars
Well, the 'swish technology' was I-Movie which comes free with the
Apple Mac.

As Splodge said, the thing that took the time was synching it all
together, but then thats the problem you get with making films.

I am the one sitting at the desk with the kid with purple glasses
sitting to the left as you look at it.

Totally, absolutely super Shaun - more than made my day. Congratulations

Ah, well Alan, I feel better about that.... I can do labourious fiddling.
The pain comes when I am up to 2am trying to get the fades and music right,
and i forget to save it....
ahhhhhhh!
I go around hearing music tracks and trying to think what furure videos i
can use them for....
I heard this track on a Jules Holland compilation, 'Movin-out to the
country' and simply HAD to find a scout video clip to use it on....

Ah right, so you are already a film star :-)

What I didn't understand was several clips show people on trampolines, or
suspended in harnesses yet I couldn't see that on the site map anywhere

On that subject it mentioned comments about the new site,

1: I would prefer to see a button either on the front page, or at least
behind the "scout and guide" section that takes you directly to the site
details, I had to go via "paw" what ever that is :-)

2: I couldn't work out where the site was, maybe the address or even a post
code could be added to the "where to find us" page?

3: I printed the map off but it came out a bit blurry, how about a higher
resolution option please?

Apart from that it looks a fun place to visit. I was hoping to get round
there for a recce for this years summer camp but that wasn't to be so maybe
for next year :)

The Trampolines are the Bungee Trampoline which is in our brochure and
the jump mats which are also there.

As regards the comments on the site, these are useful.

Some of us were saying just the other day that perhaps it needs
another look at.

I wrote the text for most of the website back in 2001 and I also
designed all the brochures back then as well. I also designed the
original website, but not this one. I'll pass back your comments and
see what can be done.

Cheers for that.

Re: Tolmers Rockstars
Just in addition, please consider CTT 2009 for your summer camp.

I can virtually guarantee that your kids will have the time of their
lives.

As well as Rock Star, have a look at these

This is from this year and the two utterly bonkers explorers.

This is a film done of our last night disco.

and this one was made in 2006 by the Norwegian contingent we had last
year.

There should be a drop-down menu on the top left of the Scout & Guide
page - but it's disappeared :-(
I'll try to get it sorted soon - thanks for letting us know.
