Theme Park Camp 2008 - 50 days to go!
Howdy folks! Yep, there's only 50 days to go until this years Theme
Park Camp,
where we'll have Explorers, Network, and SSAGO from all over the
country
(and we've had an enquiry from Iceland, woo, maybe we'll be an
international
camp!) will descend on a corner of Surrey to start the Autumn term
with a bang!
To summarise, it's 5th-7th September, it's going to be great, and
here's the website:
http://www.summitnetwork.org.uk/tpc
There's a little video on there which should give you a pretty good
flavour of the event.
It can't recreate the magic of being there in person though! And a few
things were left
on the cutting room floor, like me doing karaoke, thankfully.
The weekend involves spending all day Saturday at Thorpe Park,
home to Nemesis:Inferno, Colossus, a 10-loop rollercoaster, Stealth,
which gets to 80mph in 2 seconds, and loads of other spinning/soggy
rides,
or maybe a nice quiet visit to the farm on the train.
In the evenings, we run discos, have a fancy dress night "anything
beginning
with T, P, or C", bingo, karaoke, giant games, camp fires,
and usually an inflatable something too.
The online booking system is now live too. We've managed to find a few
cheaper
suppliers for this and that. So we've managed to hold the price down
to £35,
the same as the previous two years. Without any compromise on the
quality
of course! All you have to do is get there and feed yourselves.
If you have any questions that aren't answered on the website and FAQ,
ask here,
or email us on tpc AT summitnetwork.org.uk, and we'll try and help.
See you in September!
Yours in Scouting,
Ian Wilkins
