Scary or what!
Yes, some time ago there was postings about the infamous path 'Camino del
Rey' in Andalucia, southern Spain, with a video clip on YouTube. Well, now
there is a serious rival in China, and in my opinion far worse! Take a look
at the following, one a short YouTube clip, and further down the page a
Chinese TV documentary about the 'path' ................. but is that a
path!

Don't forget to wear your helmet and harness before watching

The videoclip referenced above makes it obvious that this section at
least is equipped Via-Ferrata style with a cable that you can clip into
with a harness. There are lots of Via-Ferratas in the alps that have
similar exposure and also no planks to walk on, but instead you need to
use iron rungs or the rock for your feet.

Via-Ferratas are a lot of fun, in the last few years I've done 20-30 of
all different grades and characters in Italy, France, Switzerland and
Austria. Some of them are simply sports routes, others allow you to get
to the tops of peaks and can be combined with an interesting days
walking in the mountains.

see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Via_ferrata

Similarly caving within the UK can often involve traverses over large
drops where you protect yourself with a cows tail clipped into a rope.
