Wellies
Billy Connolly had it about right in his song you can't do without a good
pair of wellies. I pulled on my very comfy Chameau's on sunday and found to
my dismay they are cracking up around the top of the instep no doubt leaving
them out on the front step has not helped nor clambering through gorse what
with the sun and all. They aren't leaking at the moment ( neoprene lined so
I may have a while before they do ) but are there still any craftsmen who
repair wellies ? When I was a lot younger and relief manager for Timpsons
there was a shop in Altrincham who did repairs. In fact they were so good
the fire service used to use them. Come the january sales I'll be scouting
out a new pair but it seems a shame to waste them.
