I've no doubt it'll be one hell of a bike but I can't help but suspect
that it's going to be even more sanitised than the last one.

I know that it makes sense to let riders be able to strangle the
power of a litre bike merely by flicking a switch but I just can't see
me buying a bike with that facility, let alone ever wanting to use it.

Fugly as fuck. I suspect they 'styled' it by making a full-size clay
model in the rough shape of a motorbike, then gave modelling knives to
a coach-load of epileptics & switched on the strobe lights. What is it
with the Japs these days & their 'leave no flat area untouched' school
of styling?

Oh, & it looks like a very lardy tourer in the head-on shot.

heh.

But yes. Minging. Mind you none of the thous have really grabbed me,
looks-wise. It's that dodgy front they all seem to have caught from the
Hayabusa ... the rears are sometimes better (the later ones at any
rate).

I didn't much like the front-end of the K3 thou / K4 750 at first, but
as the earlier models aged the stacked headlight look seemed a bit less
grim. Now I think it looks quite lovely, to the point that I'm happy to
stick with it and may well find a K3/K4 thou on my shopping list for
the spring.

They really are quite mental..

I like the K3 over the newer machines, especially with a tail tidy on &
smaller can.

The K3/4 is like a barge compared to the K5 onwards Nige, wait until you've
owned one then tell me they are better

Yeuk. It's another "origami" bodywork bike and there's no way that I am
going to have a bike with MCN's web URL as a paint job.

Apart from the exhausts I don't think it looks that much different
from my K8.

And any rightminded owner would put the standard cans in the bin
anyway.

i think it's not paint as much as a sort of graylight 2d projection that
follows you around everywhere on the bike and always looks like it's pointing
towards you no matter what side you look at it from.

As Adie pointed out, the 'my K8' was a bit of a giveaway. So I repeat -
ytc.

Unreliable? Fucking cheek - it's never missed a beat I'll have you
know. Unlike Ben's previous piece of unreliable Jap shite... :-p

heh - I'm reminded of a magazine's [1] description of the styling of
the ZX10 (not the 'R', the 1988 one) as "looks like it was styled
using a model, then they set fire to the model, and then put the fire
out with baseball bats".

I know and I can read what it says in his sig... but I was going to wait for
suzuki to release the k8 before I got mine but they were being very sketchy
about a release date (the K8 750's were available for 08 reg but the thous
weren't) so I got one of the last K7s and I believe Ben got his just after
we got back from IOM which was before I was led to believe by Suzuki UK that
they would be available in the UK which is why I asked the question

Yeah, he needs to accept the inevitable, let it go and get something
else.

Mine is an all black K8, which I got at the end of June.

You know what? I do!

Since I've had the GSXR I've ridden it far faster than I did the 10R.
It suits me a lot better and I know I'll be faster over the mountain
next year as I'll be more comfortable on the bike.
