...anything worth a looksy?

Rhodes was alright, food was pretty disappointing and the flights were
pure purgatory (a 4.30am cattle-class departure is something I hope I
never have to endure again). Resort was rammed with Italians and
Russians and very few brits, so it was MILF-central but Russians seem
to mostly be cunts. Surprise. Still, it beats working.

The highlight of our Greek holiday was a trip to Turkey. Go figure.

You should fucking worry. I've just got home, after making my connection
from Dalian to Beijing only to discoer that BA China had overbooked my
flight home. No seats. Ditto the Monday flight. Ditto the Tuesday
flight.

Managed to get onto a China Airlines plane to LHR. China Airlines is the
worst cattle-class longhaul I have *ever* flown.

Anyway, home now. Grumblemuffin.

I think you need to have a seat to get an upgrade. Maybe he forgot his hat.

No doubt, they don't 'get' a lot of things.

Heh. Oddly, I was offered a cut-price one on BA but that was before they
realised the plane was full....

Just done one of those (although it actually took off at 8:30am - but I
had to get the bus in Dubai at 4:30am to be at Abu Dhabi for 8:30).

Enlivened by the fact that one of the passengers in the front seats of
the bus kicked the bucket before the bus moved off. So we had to wait
for an ambulance while they tried to work out why this old bloke was no
longer moving. Ambulance arrived, CPR and defibrillator doses later and
he still wasn't moving or breathing.

And then the 8 hour plane ride with the toddler from hell in the seats
near me. Oh for an eject button. Or a soundproof bag.

The words you are looking for here are "Denied Boarding Compensation".

My position was (and, to be honest, largely remains) one of complete ambiguity.

No, not really.

AOL. Well, 10 days anyway.

Majorca was lovely (apart from some heavy rain at the start). Food was
great, villa was lovely and once you got the hang of filtering out the
Germans, the town was nice too.

We had a 10.30pm flight from Palma on Tuesday. The plane was around
60% occupied by "The Magaluf Mash Up Crowd", every single one of which
had a some kind of cough[1]. Thank Christ the flight was only two
hours.

[1] Bloke on phone to mate in passport control: "Yeah, we've all got it
but we're taking anti-biotics so we'll be OK". Fingers crossed it
wasn't contagious.

Germans are easy to ignore. Russians are just a pain in the arse.

Sitting in the departures lounge at Rhodes Paradisi airport on the way
back, looking around me, I was reminded of why we were happy to pay the
extra for a 5* resort.
