OT : UKRM Film Club
Inside...... (À l'intérieur) 2007

Starring Béatrice Dalle and Alysson Paradis.

Bought it as I've liked the gap toothed Dalle ever since 37°2 le matin which
is a performance that she should have won more awards for IMO.

Anyhoos - being a horror / slasher flick fan I was happy to see it ticking
two boxes.

Great film - suspence / gore / good plot / good twist - I know there are
those that don't like this sort of film around these parts - so feel free to
ignore this post - for those that do like their non mainstream horror
flicks - get the unrated version now !

How does that differ from normal French?
Do they always use 'tu' instead of 'vous'?

It has English Subtitles and also an English language dub on the DVD, both
of which will help you Cane; as you speak English.

As for you Nige - unfortunately there are no translations, so you'll just
have to look at the pictures.

Was it a smartly dressed, debonair and stylish type of character with a
plummy accent?

Veggie films it for his production company, IQ18 Films.

Streetfighter Sunday is a good laugh, the road outside the Ace is
absolute mayhem though.

Consider it ordered, along with Romance.

Well, Romance wasn't very good (but still better than the director's
other film, the utterly fucking worthless Anatomy Of Hell), although
actress Caroline Ducey is an absolute babe.

Talking of utterly worthless films, another one you always see in the
World Cinema section in shops, and one that also gets good reviews on
Amazon, is Mon Amour. Absolute shite. I can only assume both films get
good reviews because certain people want to buy porn but don't have the
balls to get the real thing.

As for Inside, you were absolutely right - an excellent horror/thriller.
Jesus, Dalle hasn't aged well, though, has she?

Oh, and you forgot to mention there's an excellent 'Making Of' on the
DVD, too. It's such a shame you have to get it from the US, and that
some of the US subtitles are so wrong it almost seems intentional.

To return the favour, you may like to check out:

The Nest (Nid de Guêpes) 2002
An American style action/thriller done with French flair, and only £2.98
from Amazon.

From memory, from the letters page of Viz:

"Why do people make soft core porn? People who like porn don't like it
and people who don't like porn don't like it".
