EoSM accom
I know I've said no, and my local B&B has shut down so I'm not sure
where to stay, and I'm not effing camping.

I could always just return home in the late evening (216 miles) or
stay overnight somewhere... but WHERE?

It's impossible to forecast weather more than a few days in advance, you
know that?

Put some waterproofs on.
