Odd front tyre wear pattern
As well as a shagged rear tyre, the front is also in need
of replacement, but once again, the wear pattern on it is
odd.

The tread is worn *much* more on one side of the diagonal
tread than the other. The trailing edges are perhaps 1/2
worn, while the leading edges are past the wear indicators.

And profile, showing the triangular profile - this I'm not
confused by - the tyre does all the work on the sides.

That looks perfectly normal to me.

Indeed - not odd at all - showing evidence of braking heavily (on a
heavy bike) into corners while still banked over, that's all.

The front tyre on the Ducati has done the same. Must get it replaced
this week.

Well, it's always worn that way, it's just that every time I change
it, Kev at Retford m/c always says it's wierd!

Well I don't brake *heavily* into corners, I might start the turn
while still easing off the front - but the FJ is a lardy cammel, and
even just cornering with enthusiasm will load the front tyre flanks.

I can never get rid of front chicken strips, mind - the rear is right
to the edge, but the front has always still got 1/2" of bobbles by the
time it's worn.
