Someone must have done: I've got a 'Presents for Anglers' page on my site
and it got a lot of extra traffic in the fortnight before Christmas.

I got a Campingaz Bluecat heater for when I crash out overnight in the
car
and a Penn 310 gti reel.
Hoping for a trip out of West Bay in the next week or two.

And very good it is too but how about adding a years subscription to
the NFSA from http://www.nfsa.org.uk/ to the "presents for anglers"
section?

I did think about memberships and season tickets but they're more a personal
choice for adult anglers. Might be wortwhile for juniors in some cases.
An angler buying for another angler will get it right most of the time but
a non angler, even a spouse - or a wife desperately researching presents for
the kids to give Dad - rarely gets it right.
If you can think of any genuinely useful, preferably memorable, presents
that would be welcomed by -all- anglers I will gladly add them to the list.
An astonishing number of people don't know what sort of fishing their spouse
prefers, or even which venues are favoured. Some don't even know whether
it's fresh or salt water...

Okay will do.
In the meantime though I think it's worth pointing out that besides all
the other benefits of the NFSA, membership brings with it 5 million
pounds of third party insurance cover whilst engaged in angling
activities - something I think would be worthwhile for ANY angler
oh and junior membership (under 16) is free

Agreed, but probably THE single most important thing anyone concerned
about the future of sea angling can do is to join the NFSA (a very
reasonable 26 quid single)
And that link again folks -
http://www.nfsa.org.uk/
Okay I'll get down off my soapbox now :-)

Could have been worse - could have been £50 worth of B&Q vouchers!
