LLYN BRENIG FISHING REPORT WEEK ENDING May 7th
The weather up at the Brenig this week has been quite warm, with
Southerly winds and a water temperature of 9 C
Fishing has been quite good, with an average of 3.4 fish per angler. The
best spots have been the Brenig Arm, and Hafod Lom woods. The best fish
this week was, once again, a pike, weighing in at 16 lbs, taken by John
Rogers. The best trout was an 8lb 10oz Rainbow, taken by Mike Gaskell,
in the Brenig Arm, on a Green Fritz on a floating line.
The first of the season's fly fishing courses was held on Saturday. The
next is on 18th June, and places are still available. Bookings can be
made through the Rangers office.
Wirral Game and Fishing Club held their competition on Sunday, with 35
anglers taking part. The winner was John Rogers, with 6 fish for 12lb
2oz.
At the end of the season, we are once again holding a pike week, and we
are now taking bookings for this. Availability for the boats is limited,
and some days are already quite full. Last season was fully sold out,
so, if you are interested, we would advise calling soon. Also, the
Airflow DCWW competition is getting closer (16th September), with
bookings closing on 1st August. All enquiries can be made through the
office, on 01490 420 463.
